Woman stabbed at murdered brother’s wake, critical. Respect for the "dead is dead" in Guyanese culture.

Days after a man was beaten to death in Rose Hall Town, Berbice, his sister is now said to be critical after she was stabbed during his wake on Wednesday evening.

Injured is Maureen Sundarsingh of Lot 316 Fifth Street, Rose Hall Town.

Based on information received, Sundarsingh was reportedly attacked and stabbed during an argument with another woman, who, iNews was informed is related to the man who allegedly killed Sundarsingh’s brother.

This online publication understands that the woman is presently battling for her life at the New Amsterdam Hospital.

It was previously reported that Sundarsingh’s deceased brother, Wayne Sundarsingh, called “Wino”, was allegedly beaten unconscious during a drinking spree at Bulletwood Street last Saturday, but died a few hours later.

Meanwhile, Police have disclosed that they have three persons in custody in relation to the woman’s stabbing.
