The opposition won their battle in Parliament with their one-seat majority and now the Office of the Auditor General will be funded directly from the Consolidated Fund. They had claimed this is necessary to make the Auditor General's Office “independent”. So if this is now secured, why the call for an ‘outside and independent’ audit of NICIL?

Conflict of interest The minister's wife is in the is in the auditor office. Most of the people on the board of this corrupt company are PPP ministers and their chosen cronies.

 

Every prudent accounting strategy of this kind demands outsize auditor. If the
