Latchmi Singh returning home from her graduation. According to her mother, this is only a section of the dam she had to trek daily to head to school. Further, the mother said that on this day the dam was in a “good condition.”

Despite having to trek muddy dams in mostly rain, a Yakusari, Black Bush Polder (BBP) girl topped her primary school at the last National Grade Six Examination (NGSE) leaving her family proud and in awe of her achievement.

Latchmi Singh, 11, of Yakusari South had to walk for 45 minutes each day on a dam to get to the Yakusari Primary School and 45 minutes back in the afternoon. However, she was able to top her school with 461 marks and gained a spot at the Berbice High School (BHS).

At her school’s graduation recently, Singh was awarded for being the top student, best in each of the four subjects, and spelling bee. Her proud grandfather and other relatives also bought trophies for her.

I hear Ali and Jagdeo and Ramotar talking about how much Guyana will improve. And yet the basics have not been improved. I read a recent article, where a number of Buxtonians were interviewed. There is no garbage collection, burnt garbage in the village spew out toxic fumes. Water supply is major problem as well. No books in Library Buildings. Citizens hearing these men talk probably exclaimed, "hell no, we will never see progress in villages." Black Bush Polder is a good example.

Ali is going to have GT cleaned up. I remember Granger doing it too. Garbage accumulates anyway, that means GT residents are nasty as hell. So, Ali should have daily garbage pickup, in the end he will have to do it anyway.

My goodness, light up Main Street amid shit and boast about it. Nasty ass PPP.

someone should send Bebi Oosman's article to the Dubai and all the other hotshots who Jagdeo & Ali are doing business with. that girl walking in all that mud 45 min. in the morning and same thing in the afternoon, shame on Guyana's leaders. they're busy walking around G'town hugging up blacks for political reasons. they feel they already have Indian support so they do nothing for them. Black Bush is PPP, but what is PPP doing for them? -- defecating on them
