That his government is appealing the Chief Justice ruling to avoid Jagdeo from running for president in a third term?

Is like you don't have confidence in your own judicial system.

If Dr. Jagdeo is not a threat to the PNC, they would never object the court's ruling.
Dr. Jagdeo is a former president, a former finance minister, international recognition, and the PPP opposition leader. Dr. Jagdeo credentials supersede the entire government side. Is this what they're afraid of?

I am happy now the Jagdeo is back in the picture. Only him can take on the PNC regime and retake control of Guyana's destiny.

On another subject on Venezuela, the esteem gentleman said he join with the PNC in defending Guyana's territorial integrity, but Grainger must engaged in economic diplomacy. The Dr. Further stated that Venezuela is our neighbor, and we must not forget that. Diplomacy and dialogue must continue and stop jumping like monkeys on people's back.

The honorable opposition leader have given me a renewed hope of comfort to breathe easy again.

It is normal practice for the loser of a court case to appeal the decision in a higher court. The law provides for that. The Attorney General is acting within his rights by appealing.

Regarding the other issue, President Granger [note the spelling] has already said he is prepared to discuss bilateral trade with his Venezuelan counterpart. Maduro, however, wants the territorial controversy on the agenda and Guyana has rightfully stuck to its position that the UN must handle the matter pending an appeal to the International Court of Justice.

Well, there were reasons for bewilderment. Mr Jagdeo himself had declared more than once that he was not interested in public office again. A parliamentarian's seat is public office. Leader of the Opposition position is public office too. So it's puzzling why Mr Jagdeo changed his mind. Anyway, it's now a foregone conclusion that he will take up both positions soon and Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo, who is responsible for parliamentary affairs, told me he would roll out the red carpet when Mr Jagdeo and his comrades walk into the Public Buildings. Let's look out for that.

Other than Singapore in my experience. Is there a country where the race are in harmony with each other ?
