OK Folks!

Hope all GNIers love their jobs---bet you can't wait to wake up in the mornings and head off to work---it excites you---an honest day's work for an honest day's pay--- but surely you must know of people who hate their jobs.

Anyway, some new study came out and said 50% of people hate their jobs----there is always some study out there.

SO WHY DO PEOPLE HATE THEIR JOBS ?

Reasons will be given later.

JUST THINK ABOUT YOUR JOB---DOES IT EXCITE YOU ?

Do you dread taking vacations---fearing you'll miss the job ?

KEEP THINKING.

It looks like you never worked a day in your life according to Con***ius.

By the way, GNI considers Con-f-u-cius a dirty word.lol

A job is your livelihood. Hate it or love you still have to do it. People have choices, if they can afford to tell their bosses off.

Rev,

You make your job what it is. I was fortunate to work for companies like the MN DHS, US Virgin Island DHS, a hospital in MN, Morgan Stanley and a consulting company called Compuware.

Con-fu-cius also said: "Man who put haan ah packet ah hold ka**ie". lol

It comes down to ATTITUDE!

Whatever your lot in life is---or whatever your  job is---if you have a good attitude---you will make the most of it(the job)----if you have a bad attitude---you'll be mentally tortured.

I like you attitude VB---you trade hours for dollars doing your job---and those dollars allow you to enjoy some of the nice things in life---like travelling.

Enjoying your job depends on the people you work with. We accept people for who they are. All of us are different.

The new study says 50% of people hate their jobs!

The good news is 50% of people either like or love their jobs.

By the way, the Rev doesn't believe 50% of people hate their jobs---that study is wrong---50% of people will complain about their jobs---but hate is a strong word.

EXCELLENT!

That's what I say to folks all the time---create the life you want to live---and then live it---and create the job that will make you happy and contented if you are not pleased with your current job. Of course most people are afraid of taking risks---so they suffer---they live lives of quiet desperation.

Well done Mr. T.

WEll you have to weigh the 'perks' that come with the job...make use of flexible work arrangements, manage your 401k, capitalize on the medical benefits etc... and at the end of the day when you leave just tell yourself 'i don't give a hoot'..

alena is that you marching up that corporate ladder ?

Lena:

As you climb the corporate ladder the perks become more alluring, but when the job starts to follow you home or on your vacations and impede on quality time with your family, that's when you start to ask questions---yes! The monetary compensation is great---but is it worth the stress ? Is it worth the sacrifice ? A lot of people find themselves trapped as they climb higher on the corporate ladder.

Many Years ago I took off with my girlfriend to Florida on a mini vacation---even though I was on vacation I had to check into the office every day----that was a requirement in Investment banking---anyway it was in September---there was some Jewish holiday---and all the Jewish guys became religious----I was called back from vacation to work on a deal----the boss said I owe you one---and thankfully my girlfriend was understanding.

BUT THAT IS WHEN I SAID TO MYSELF NO BOSS OR NO COMPANY WILL EVER CONTROL MY TIME---EVER!

A lot of folks who hate their jobs---the perks are great---the money is fabulous---but their time is controlled by their company---they are white collar slaves.

i cn say i would prefer to be at home with lots of money...

It gets boring after a awhile. I found out that my friends were at work whilst I was home watching TV and ordering take away food even for breakfast. I started putting on weight, before the doctor put my on cholesterol tablets.

My advise is not to stay home, but go and do something that keeps you fit and sane.

Mr.T

My job......I go to work around 9 and leaves around 3. I take lunch at which ever restaurant and at what time I am hungry....usually with a friend or my assistant. most of the day I browse the net or play games....I am the boss, but I do work for short periods (reviewing and signing documents). I have never taken more than 2 days off, but once I was forced to stay away for one month because of a cycle accident but I saw 'important' clients from home.

I like my job because it made me rich.

Alex:

Would you kindly share with the GNI forum what your perception of being rich is ?

Is it a specific dollar number ? Is it a feeling ?

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF BEING RICH ?

Thanks.

Alex:

CONGRATS!

If you are able to save $5000 a month in Guyana and are debt free, then you are definitely better off financially than 90% of Americans and Canadians.

Now Alex, keep this in mind:

One of the nicest things you can do for your children is to treat their mother with love and respect.

There are lots of men who achieve enormous success in their profession and away from home---but they are failures at home----they cheat on their wives---don't spend quality time with the family.

No amount of money or no amount of success away from home can compensate for failure at home.

Once again alex, congrats---you seem to be doing well professionally---make sure the family life is happy---and you'll be a REAL MAN.
