Even with her troubles she was a very likable person. When I first emigrated to the US in 1984 Whitney was a rising star and her songs, like "Saving all my love for you" were really a joy.

I'll miss her. Only last night I was telling my wife that the song that ended the movie "The Help" sounded like it was sung by Whitney (It was Mary Blige). Like Michael Jackson's passing a few years ago this one saddens me too. Great gal. And what a voice!

In reflection, all that talent and wealth she had her share of demons. In the end it consumed her body, her mind and her spirit.

Life is fragile. God be the glory for those He has in his everlasting mercies.

The Almighty cautioned about unequally yoked. Bobby Brown imparted his demons upon her pristne life.

Sadness.

So young, so talented and so tragic.

Why SM? Why? Don't you have a child to raise? A brother to love? A mom to adore? Go do those things. Writing this crap should be beneath you.

The great pretender Kari.

Rip Whitney!

No doubt she was a troubled soul. Hopefully one day one of your kids or family member will suffer the same type of mental ailment and check out of life, and then you will discover new found empathy.

Canecutters will be canecutters. You just cannot improve the intelligence of some people. Whitney was one of the best. It is sad that such a talent has left us too soon.

The price of fame and glory...

And all that beauty, all that wealth e'er gave,
Await alike th' inevitable hour:--
The paths of glory lead but to the grave."

Sad that it happened during Black History Month too.

Nothing is wrong with you wishing that the brother discover empathy but why would you wish harm on his kids/family?

Well said TI, like i mention in my post that I love her music and she was indeed a stat but to have 170 million record sales, to attain stardom at such a young age and to reduce her self to almost smoking her knee caps out beats me. She was given a second chance but what happened? She checked into rehab a few weeks after the big show in NY. She chose drugs over every other thing in this world, most if not all of her friends moved away from her because of her insisting in smoking her brains out. She could not walk away from Bobby because he had the number to the drug dealer. She is what we call a waste of human resource, and she will join the next big loser Michael Jackson who know where. Godee man can use this piece of trash as an example for his kids to emulate, I will not.

As I stated, one day this will come back to haunt you as either one of your kids or family member succumb to chemical dependency or unstable mental state. Many like you pass judgement as though you are above such demons, but as long as you have kids, the statistics show that sooner or later a family member will become inflicted by drug abuse or depression.

Seems like you speaking form your personal experience, you seem very irritated and bitter, I am sorry if this has happened to you or someone in your family but I have no sympathy for those human trashes who smoke their lives away while there are so many other choices out there. Why don’t I do drugs, and I can afford it, WHY? It’s simply because of the choices we make. To come here and defend these dumm asses is very asinine.

SM...you can rail all you want on Whitney Houston's drug use and the rest, and how she's a waste (of all that talent). But to say that where ever she goes in the hereafter that you hope she walks with her own crack to smoke, helps no one.

That's the point people here are making to you. It's unfortunate that someone had to mention that maybe a close one to you may suffer the same drug dependency, etc. But it does not give you license to say things that clearly are beneath a sensible person.

It's not time to get defensive, but to realize that you were out of the realm of normalcy to talk about Whitney and walking with crack to smoke after she died. Man up and realize that!

I have no apology for no one here, I say she was a waste of human resource, her insistence on doing drugs led to her downfall and she will not get any where she is now so she better walk with her own.

The woman is dead---say something nice---like she had a golden voice but ugly soul.

But you are right! You dont have to say or do things to please anyone. Once your conscience is clear--you're OK!

The Rev sympathizes with Whitney's mother--having to bury a child must be one of the most heartbreaking experiences in life.

There is a lesson everyone can learn from Whitney's death---every choice we make in life carries a consequence---do drugs and there is a consequence---you can drop dead suddenly.

Rev, it is sad to see such a talented woman depart. She made poor choices in life.

RIP and my deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

I saw somewhere that 48 year old Whitney was dating 31 year old Ray J---the woman was a cougar. Big Grin

Kind of stereotypical.

What do you call a 48 year old man who dates a 31 year old woman.

A dirty ole man?

Most men like women 15 years younger than they are but shun women who date younger men.
