I read Lenin and Marx to understand and deconstruct their ridiculous idealism not for any profound revelation. One does not have to be a marxist or ultra left to be critical of the IMF or the WB. Both of those institutions are manned by refugees from the political wasteland of neoliberalism. Do I look dumb enough to be ever in any Guyanese political org much less the PYO? I won the damn prize in a competition and it turned out to be a box of these marxist bilge. Luckily I did have access to a source or truly serious philosophical works because I came from family who placed emphasis on good books of all sorts. Utopianism never had a hold on me.
