The UN is headquartered in NY and you may have even visited.  Check the history of the use of the word "holocaust" at UN debates and then make a pronouncement on whether or not Guyana had a holocaust.

Some of my ancestors were wiped out of Golden Grove.  Their houses burned to the ground during the Guyana holocaust of 1964.

Sounds more like ethnic cleansing than a holocaust to me.

It was neither.  I lived through that period and remember it being called the crisis, the riots and the disturbances.  It was a frightening period , which is why it is not advisable for people living out of Guyana to instigate violence there.  I don't want to trivialize the barbarity of what happened during the riots but to call it "holocaust" for example would trivialize the systematic eradication of six million Jews by the Nazis and their collaborators.

Call it what u want, the riots, the crisis whatever.  But when one ethnic group want to eradicate the other, sounds like ethnic cleansing to me. I wasnt around then, but my parent who live at lot 3 evans street Charlestown where I was born had an up close and personal view of what was going on.

Where the hel is Carib when u need him.

Let's be honest---both sides were killing each other.  I know---I was there and I have read enough about it.

In 1964, there was a partition.  Indians went to the Sugar Plantations and blacks went to the villages.  That was not a Holocaust.WISMAR

The partition happened in 1838. The holocaust happened in 1964. Entire villages like Wismar, Golden Grove, Victoria, and other places were eradicated. People were killed, their houses burned.  The wealthiest Portuguese people went to the Canadian Embassy and left the country. Not because it is not recorded in history it didn’t happen.

Indians had no representation. Cheddi Jagan was the first to run under his bed and hide.  He had nowhere to go when He was kicked out of government housing.  He rented a place on Camp Street until Ramkarran gave him land in Bel Air to build a house.

On May 5, 1838, the year in which the abolition of slavery was finalized in the British West Indies and the beginning of the indentured labor system, 396 Indian immigrants popularly known as the 'Gladstone Coolies' landed in British Guiana from Calcutta in the Bengal Presidency region of British India.

How can there be partition in 1838 ? when the first batch of East Indian arrived in British Guiana.

Victoria and Golden Grove were never eradicated.  That's where I lived.

Don't make up stories.   They killed a blackman in Enmore and the Indians were afraid of a retaliation, so they moved on their accord..  Nobody forced them.  You don't know anything about what you are saying..

Five coolies arrived in Guyana and the rest was sent to other Islands in the West Indies.   They were all beggars and thieves..

Bullshit lies.  Indians were driven out in droves and murdered. My great great grandparents are buried in the Victoria cemetery across from the RC Church.  His name is Jaipaul Singh.  Born in 1865.  All of his properties were burned.  His nephew Hardat Singh owned the Luxury liner buses at Golden Grove.  When they were attacked he put his family and whoever could fit in the buses and drove to Good Faith, Mahaicony in the middle of the night.  They never returned. His grandson is now the owner of Letter T estate.

It’s people like you who cover crimes like these and propagate lies that allow history to repeat itself.  You are shallow and uninformed.

When the Indians arrived In 1838 the slaves were removed from the plantations and Indians moved in as indentured laborers. The slaves bought two villages at Victoria which was Plantation Northbrook, and Buxton.
