What made Ukrainians believe that their fate would be different to that of Libya, Syria or Egypt?

The crowds are stupid, they do not learn the lessons of history. Cannot they see that the Western countries just want to contain them by bleeding them to death?

They aren't...this is what happens:

25 years after the fall of communism they still believe the west is a paradise...

So travelling to the West to get a job have become the dream of every Ukrainian... there is a problem... the only way they would be able to freely travel to the west to get jobs is by becoming members of the EU. ..there is another problem... they believe that by breaking with Russia they all will become EU citizens tomorrow...well..that is not going to happen.

So the revolution was driven on false expectations...this was the same reason why the Orange revolution failed and was undone 10 years ago. People don't learn...
