If you live in Richmond Hill or Queens then moving back to Guyana looks good but if you live in places like Arizona or Minnesota or Calgary. Generally safe and clean places then there is no need to go back to Guyana in your old age.

Suh what you saying New England doan have good places ?

New England has nice places. Richmond Hill and Queens are dumps with very over priced Real Estate that are generally in bad conditions. Even the hotels in those areas suck.

It is about preference. Plus no access to the Mediterranean. I do not find things cheaper. Homes there are expensive. Malaga for example has a large english speaking community. In any event everything is accessible by car or train.

Chronic & persistent littering has become part of Guyanese culture. It is far easier to change the Constitution than to change that culture. But it seems that people change their attitude to littering when they emigrate to cleaner countries. And when they revisit Guyana the eyesore & stench immediately stun them.

In all seriousness, what alternatives do they have. Are there scheduled garbage pickups by the various municipalities? Are there designated areas for garbage? Regarding the above, do you think their attitudes would have changed if they were in a similar situation like Guyana?

In Corriverton, the town council charges $200.00 per household if you have your garbage picked up. Some people who can afford it pay the $200.00. However, some of those who can afford the $200.00 still throw the garbage in the trenches.
