Facebook is like a smorgasborg of ideas and opinions on Guyana as of Friday. Lots of comments from government,  political leaders, and knuckleheads (I suspect some could be from GNI).

Here are some observations what they are saying….

If I was to do a poll, unscientific, of course, about 80% seems to be calling on the government to resign, appoint an “interim or caretaker” government and set a date for new elections. Most people (overwhelmingly Indos) feel there will be violence and instability.

  1. Everybody seems to be cussin Nagamottoo and Ramjuttan for not exercising some level of independence….they cite Moses apparent backtracing of statements he made on Friday.
  2. A few people place their hopes on the Amerindian Party (assuming it gon form)
  3. Most people telling Ramkarran to abandon the idea of forming a new party...they say he will only get support from Starbruk News

Here are some additional issues raised:

  1. Some people express the view that the PNC has a history of violence and the party will unleash its supporters at the right time. They cite the Buxton incident and “kite and kin” politics as examples. Some people sound like they disappointed that Afros did not stage protest in the business area of GT last week. Some people feel that the PNC will try and reduce the term of office of the PPP, after the election, if they win, as was done in the past.
  2. Some Afros (I assume) feel that Guyana belongs to them…and Indos have no business running the country, especially not after Jagdeo and Company. Some people are referring to the recent Audrey Norton press conference where he seems to indicate that Guyana belongs to Afros (I saw this press conference and I did not get this from watching the video).

Overall, most people were pessimistic...Guyana look like it heading into a sad state of affairs.

They don't need to know this bullshit. All the people care for is that they make an honest living, feed and educate their children and live in peace. I don't think this is too much to ask as taxpayers.
