High cholesterol levels can increase the chances of heart disease and heart attack. With proper medication and some lifestyle changes, you can maintain your cholesterol. So, how to reduce cholesterol naturally? 

  • Eat healthy food by reducing saturated fats, eliminating trans-fat, eating more omega-3 fatty acids, increasing soluble fiber, and adding whey protein
  • Exercise at least five days a week. Increase your physical activity by taking a brisk walk, riding a bike to work, and playing your favourite sport
  • Quit smoking as it damages the HDL cholesterol level. You can see the effects within 20 minutes of quitting smoking
  • Try to lose weight as few extra pounds contribute to increased cholesterol levels
  • Consume alcohol in moderation. They, too, have been linked with HDL cholesterol
