Family tied up; attacked by bandits armed with gun, cutlasses

crime[www.inewsguyana.com] – The police are on the hunt for five men, who invaded the home of a Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara family on Thursday night (October 22).

iNews understands that at approximately 20:30 hrs, five men, one of whom was armed with a handgun and the others with cutlasses, entered the home of 45 – year – old Andy Sookram of Lot 82 Samaroo Dam, Pouderoyen.

A police release confirmed that the attackers tied up the man and other occupants of the house, including 18 – year – old Andrew Sookram and Esardai Sookram, 47 years.

The bandits took away two generators, a weeding machine, eight gold finger rings, two gas cylinders and four cell phones before escaping.
