As the domestic political support decline for the Venezuelan President, he will intensify the the pursue of the territorial claims by a combination of confrontational diplomatic or military policies.

It is good domestic politics to be this antagonistic.

We have to up our diplomatic activities and ensure that we keep the world watching the Venezeualan Navy ships.

I would think he simmered down due to England stepping in, the contrary to the American flubber that went silent since the beginning of this "situation"

It is the dying popularity that are bringing about the border reclamations in the first place.

The first rule in any extreme leftist book is to blame others and claim what doesn't belong to you in order to keep your people believing their country is great, Putin is using that tactic right now, and China.

the he problem here is, if anyone follows Venezuelan politics, they would know that the opposition is even more hard lined when it comes to the border dispute.

Guyana needs to sign agreements so  that the likes of England and others can durably place boots on the ground, because let's face it, we don't stand a snowballs chance in hell if they decided to take it.
