TOWN Clerk of the Georgetown Mayor and City Council (M&CC), Ms. Carol Sooba said yesterday she fears for her life ever since the airing of the ‘Walter Rodney Groundings’ programme on Channel Nine television last Sunday evening. She told the Guyana Chronicle that around 18:00hrs that day, a friend called and urged her to tune in to HBTV 9 and view the show on which Working People’s Alliance (WPA) executive, Mr. Desmond Trotman and another man, whose name she could not recall, were speaking.
Sooba alleged that she was described as the “wicked” Town Clerk, and a call was made to citizens to ensure that she does not get safely from her home to her office at City Hall.
She lamented that because she is fearful for her safety, she will take her complaint to the Police.
In the meantime, though, she said she is trying to obtain a copy of the Sunday tape.
When contacted yesterday, Trotman declared that, to his knowledge, nothing was said on the programme that threatens the life of Sooba.
But he said he is prepared to fully respond once Sooba presents all the details.

Auditor General collecting evidence in probe into Town Clerk's use of funds
Thursday, 13 MarAuditor General, Deodat Sharma on Thursday confirmed that a probe has begun into the Town Clerk, Carol Sooba’s alleged misuse of GUY$500,000 to pay a city lawyer in connection with a High Court matter in which she is not a party.
Sharma declined to discuss in detail the status of the probe but he said a number of persons have been interviewed and documents collected. He could not say when his investigation would be completed.
DemWaves was told that the Audit Office has formally requested a copy of the cheque to Attorney-at-Law, Roysdale Forde and the contract with him.
Sooba’s substantive appointment as Town Clerk has triggered legal action by the Municipality’s Public Relations Officer, Royston King who was one of the qualified candidates whose application was turned down. Then Local Government Minister, Ganga Persaud went ahead and appointed Sooba although an interview panel had unanimously recommended someone else.
Current Local Government Minister, Norman Whittaker questioned the procedure for calling in the Auditor General, saying that the decision to do so was not made by the Council but by the Deputy Mayor, Patricia Chase-Green. “The correct procedure is that it should have been discussed at the level of Council and Council takes a decision to request an inquiry,” he told DemWaves.
Whittaker said that despite his concerns about the procedure, he would respect the findings by the Auditor General when the report is compiled.ch 2014 17:03

Hay dummy. Let me inform you that inevitable conclusions do not need the law to make them so. All they need is a logical mind. This is is the basis of all you see around you ...conclusions wrought of formal and informal processes that produces consistencies we trust and what reduces ( for good or bad) to our reality.
That is the PPP is corrupt is as deductive as the law of conservation of energy or intuitive as the law of combinations etc. If you did not have shit to start with and you have a known and finite resource but over a definite period you suddenly accrue huge wealth, the inevitable conclusion you have a hidden cash cow or a rich uncle.

So she fear for her life and she was guarded by a mac man with a mac gun. 
So the PPP hired a death squad hitman to protect a PPP appointed town clark, instead of dem giving her police protection. One has to wonder why the PPP government was in bed with hitmen. Ramotar and Jagdeo might have a case to be on trial.
Soon should seek political refuge in one of the embassies in Georgetown.
Which one? I don't think they got enough food to feed her.
