How much money in US dollars is 1 crore rupees?

Nikhil Garg
Nikhil Garg, grew up using INR as the primary currency
We need to apply two conversion factors to convert one crore Rupees into US Dollars - we need to convert 'crore' into US numerical system and we need to convert Rupees into Dollars.

Crore is a unit in Indian numerical system which is equivalent to 10 million. So one crore Rupees is same as 10 million Rupees. This part is fixed and doesn't change with time.

Next, we need to convert Rupees into Dollars - and for that we need the currency exchange rate between Rupee and Dollar. That varies over time but right now is hovering around ~60 Rupees = 1 US Dollar.

So overall, 1 crore Rupees = 10 million Rupees = (10 Million / 60) US Dollars = 160, 000 US Dollars.

You can also see a more accurate real time answer here.

So 800 Crores would equal US$ 160,000 x 800
US$128,000,000 (ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY EIGHT MILLION US DOLLARS)

Twenty-six films in total have grossed in excess of $1 billion worldwide, of which three have grossed over $2 billion, with Avatar ranked in the top position. All of the films have had a theatrical run (including re-releases) in the 21st century, and films that have not played during this period do not appear on the chart because of ticket-price inflation, population size and ticket purchasing trends not being considered.

FBox Office Mojo stopped updating its main total for Frozen in August 2014, while it was still in release. The total listed here incorporates subsequent earnings in Japan, Nigeria, Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany up to the end of 2015 but omits earnings in Turkey, Iceland, Brazil, and Australia (2016) which amount to a few hundred thousand dollars. The total is rounded to $1 million to compensate for the numerical inaccuracy.
TS3The gross for Toy Story 3 has been corrected to $1,066,969,703, meaning that it finished one place higher at the end of its release.
DM2Disney issued an erratum to the gross for The Lion King, correcting its gross from $987.5 million to $968.5 million. This means that Despicable Me 2 finished its run ahead of it and would have ranked one place higher at the end of its release.
FNFinding Nemo finished one place higher at the end of its original release, after taking corrections into account. Its total now stands at $940.3 million, which would put the first run at $871.0 million after deducting the 3D reissue gross of $69.3 million. Meanwhile, the total gross for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring has been corrected to $871.5 million, which would rank below Finding Nemo's first run once its 2011 reissue gross is deducted.
