Excerpts from the killing of Imam and his assistant. In my book, this is bullshit. This statement by itself is the hatred that pointblank was fuming about.

“That’s not what America is about,” said local resident Khairul Islam, 33. “We blame Donald Trump for this ... Trump and his drama has created Islamophobia.”

This looks more of a scene in the Middle East. Find the killers and let them face the full force of the Law, USA style.

Chief, I don't think that they are insensitive to the two lives lost. I think they are more worried what this mob mentality can escalate into. We do not need another BLM or Muslim Lives Matter movement. We have seen what this can turn into.

While I am not sure of kp's bias, the snake's hatred is well documented on GNI. He trolls hate sites seeking information. He cannot compose a proper sentence which would suggest that he cannot really read. His inability to properly read is perfect for the purveyors of hatred on those hate sites that he has his best orgasms. He chose the photo above because it advances his hate but ignored this one because it tells a different narrative. I would have shown both or none. but then again, fortunately, I am not the snake.

What mob mentality? Where is the US precedent for Muslim mob mentality in America? We recently had mob mentality at Bernie and Trump's rallies as well as at BLM ones. Where is this US precedent for mob mentality? The mob mentality involving Muslims in America were non-Muslims 'mobs' against Muslims' ones involving the Ground Zero mosque (stupid term), Qur'an burning or Dallas mosque to name a few.

Bai Ksaz, all I  am saying that this thing can turn into a mob scene or movement. I am not saying that this scene is a mob, but could eventually turn into one. We see this happening in London. Do you not think Muslims are capable of creating a mob scene in America?

Trump is responsible for legitimizing wholesale stigmatization of Muslims. I will also include Cruz, who demanded patrols of Muslim neighborhoods.

Trump isn't seeking lunatics who act based on their warped interpretation of the Koran.  Who is stigmatizing 1.6 billion people who are forced to prove their innocence. This is what banning the entry of Muslims is.

You may see one of his own shot them. Let's wait and see.

Police say witnesses described the shooter of 55-year-old Imam Maulama Akonjee and 64-year-old Thara Uddin as a man with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a dark shirt and blue shorts. Police released a sketch early Sunday of a dark-haired, bearded man wearing glasses.

No. Muslim Americans are not like those in other parts of the world. Muslim Americans are well integrated in American society and that is how it should remain. The Republican party has been on the fringe which gave birth to Trump whose main talking point is that Muslims are not welcome in America. He plays very well to those who want to live in that hate bubble.

American Muslims have been under the eyes of suspicion since 9/11 and they haven't taken up any arms in the streets of America.

My guess is that had Cruz won the Republican nomination, he would have altered his earlier positions and pivoted to the general elections. Trump can't do that because he must know that he is empty without them. Trump doesn't like to lose and he likes to get his own way so he will continue to beat the hate Muslim drum until November because that is all he has right now.

Cruz is a Christian Taliban.  While the norms of this country prevent the open religious oppression of minority religions that we see in most Muslim nations (the reason why the populations are usually 90%+ Muslim) Cruz would definitely promote stigmatization of those who doesn't define as Christian. And that includes even many who perceive themselves as Christian, but not of the "Hell & Damnation" group of Cruz.

So no he wouldn't have pivoted.  He is as much a bigot as Trump is.  In fact more so as Trump is exploiting the insecurity of his targeted group, which usually expresses itself in terms of racial, ethnic and religious bigotry. Cruz sincerely believes that Muslims are pagans, as are Episcopalians, Catholics and others.

I didn't mean that he would be a centralist, only that he would have pivoted to the general elections. He would have appeared more like a credible presidential candidate than Trump who is continuously looking like a big joke. There has been hatred in the world since Cain killed Abel over jealousy so one has to always be aware of it. Hopefully it does not completely define us.

Chief

When the Italian woman in Howard Beach  was raped and killed and the Italians gathered to demand justice, no one said anything about a mob mentality.

In the US, when  people in certain communities are killed, the community has a right to come together and demand justice

You cannot sit in your house and pontificate like some Guyanese do...you have to demand justice

At this stage of our discussions I'm not into who the haters here are, etc. I will look for solutions, period.

This masjid is a few blocks from where I live. I passed there last night but the protests were over. There were a police emergency vehicle in front of the masjid, presumably to provide protection in this heated time.

The NY Times reported that a medium-light-skinned guy walked up to the two Muslims (one of whom had $1,000 on his person that was not taken) at 2 PM (broad daylight) and fired into the heads of the two Muslims. They were pronounced dead at Jamaica hospital. The killer just fled on foot. The protests started on Liberty Ave by around 77 St to where City Line starts (the border between Queens and Brooklyn).
