Dear Editor,
During last week, Region 5 was blessed to have the Hon. Prime Minister and 1st Vice President visited on three different occasions, the first being on Thursday 24 March.  On this day the Hon. Prime Minister and his wife Sita Nagamootoo visited the Sheidstown Community whereby they attended a Church Service and also distributes hundreds of kites to children of the community.  The Prime Minister and his wife were warmly welcomed into the area by residents and members of the church.
What was most astonishing is when the motorcade of the PM was making its way back to Georgetown, the residents of West Berbice, both young and old that were on the roadside was waving and jumping, some was shouting Moses, Moses.  While some of the veterans salute the motorcade as the PM passed by.  This shows the amount of love the people of Region 5 has for the Hon. Prime Minister.
On Saturday 26th March, 2016 the Hon. Moses V Nagamootoo visited and also delivered the feature address at the first West Berbice Business Expo and Trade Fair also in attendance was his wife and the Hon. Minister of Business Dominic Gaskin.  The following day the Hon. Prime Minister and First Vice President along with his wife visited the family of the Sugar worker from Bath Settlement that was killed on duty by African bees.
At the Trade Fair, the PM was greeted with hugs and kisses.  He was welcome by all.  Mr. Editor what amazes me is when the Hon. Prime Minister walked around the booths of various companies\businesses, he was welcomed whole heartedly by ALL. Mr. Editor, I could not have believed my eyes as to what I was seeing taking place.  It amazes me the most when people of Bath Settlement whom I know to be die hard PPP supporters approach the Prime Minister and congratulated him for becoming Prime Minister.
This has shown that the people of West Berbice are becoming wiser day by day and seems not be listening to some politicians that wants to divide this nation.  This has shown that our people have become thinkers for themselves and more over are throwing the past behind them so that we can have a better and united Guyana. I must congratulate the people of West Berbice for showing the love and respect to others no matter what race, religion or political background we are from.  Let’s continue to show love for all and let’s work towards moving Guyana forward as one. I must also thank the Hon. Prime Minister and his wife for making those trips to region 5 and I am appealing to you Hon. PM to have more visits to region 5 Abel Seetaram
