Ramjattan has told Demerara Waves Online News (www.demwaves.com ) that the AFC would be settling for nothing less than the Speaker because APNU would get the positions of Deputy Speaker, Chief Whip and Opposition Leader.

If there is no consensus between the two opposition parties and it comes down to a party-line vote, the PPPC would get the position with its 32 seats. The AFC wants either Moses Nagamootoo or Raphael Trotman. APNU is floating Debra Backer as its favourite.

Let them fight each other as the PPP continues to develop the country.

What is it they want for Guyana? Nothing.

The AFC cant even decide which candidate they want. And unless APNU approves of their choice they have nothing to get. You definitely know the PPP isnt going to budge.

How many times do you need to be reminded of this? The PPP gopt 48% of the votes of the 73% who showed up, which means that the got just over 30% of the citizens approval.

You have no right to babble about what the average citizen will or will not do.average citizen

Show us how you came with that number and while you are at it please tell us the percentage citizens' approval APNU received.

The numbers are public information. 73% of the voters actually voted and the PPP got 48%. If you have a problem call GECOM and start your own peaceful protest march.

65% of the resgitered voters DID NOT vote PPP. Do the maths.

You are darn afraid to express APNU's percentage of support based on the same methodology you used computing the PPP's support.

Albert you are so engrossed in this speaker discussion.

Believe me ..... it will not be a PPP's candidate .... it will be Deb. Wanna make a gentleman's bet?
you making two mistake first one is it will be MOSES sorry, the second is you calling FAT ALBERT a gentleman
Look I am all for the AFC ... I have nothing against them ... but with 7 seats and the APNU 26 ... they just don't call the shots. Their other option is to give their 7 votes to the PPP, then we'll see who votes for them next election.

Nuff ...the way I see it , I wouldn't put my money where yours is...

"Ramjattan, who had previously hinted at possible support for Backer, yesterday insisted that the party was fully supporting Nagamootoo for the post, while adding that a decision could be made within a matter of days and “I didn’t tell you I am supporting the APNU’s candidate, I am supporting a fellow by the name of Nagamootoo,” Ramjattan said, during a press briefing yesterday." excerpts from stabroek News.

What else do you expect him to say. It's politics, he has to push his party member's name otherwise he looks like he has conceded.

Wait and see the result. I don't see 7 seats pushing around 26. The other option is for the AFC to vote for Ramkarran.

you is not thinking my friend, the AFC will be calling the shots.this is one time APNU will have to think with their brain and not their hearts.for the first time after 20 yrs the black people will get a chance to help their people to get a better life, but they will need the AFC help.ramjettan know that the people who support the AFC will be watching at his action, and these people want the ppp to be accountable for all the crime that they committed.MOSES is the man for the job he will make the ppp come to their knees

The AFC knows what they were elected to do .... they were elected to hold the PPP accountable and jail the PPP criminals. That was their campaign promise.
