Chris I did a quick analysis of this election, comparing it with the last one.

This election turned out to be Region 4, 7 and 10 against the rest of Guyana. Not purely race, as the PPP got stomped so badly in Region 4 that there must have been mass defection of Indians towards the Coalition. I am thinking of about 40-50%.

The PPP won 49% of the vote. Overwhelming support in Regions 1,2,3,6 and 9.

Please do not make the mistake that the PPP made and think that these people should be disregarded.

Shaitaan has meandered from supporting the PPP, in a rage against Moses "selling out", to endorsing the coalition, because the PPP was inept and incompetent, to going back to the PPP when he fell prey to their bleats that the tribe must circle the wagons against "black man" rule.

And here is the reality. Most intelligent people are complex and cannot be reduced to a simplistic for or against model. I am worried by those whose fervor for a political a party is so intense that they tolerate no criticism of it. I am also worried by those who uncritically support a political party.

So I don't have a problem with Shaitaan.

Minus the Indo supremacist thing and the "black rule" thing, you're spot on.

I'm not a black and white individual.

I spent the "victory" night with the PPP in Queens rubbishing them to heir faces and I actually told everyone at 9pm they were losing the election DESERVEDLY at the hands of the Berbicians. I told them how much Indians friggin hate their guts. I left early because I thought I was bringing down the room as the Ministers were still assuring us of victory inspite of the numbers which clearly showed the distinct advantage APNU had from the beginning when single divisions started to trickle in.

The Corentyne coolies punished the PPP. That is a fact! My home division massively went Coalition by a factor of 10x the PPP vote. One single Corentyne division.
