Nothing is wrong with the system. I do not think it is unreasonable to ask the side batting last to make 194 in 26 overs.

You're asking the batting side to score at about 7.46 an over when the fielding side scored at about 5.08 an over. Cricket is an unpredictable game. India had the wickets in hand but there was no guarantee they would have scored 370 plus runs in 50 overs.
