Sophia Woman celebrates her 100th year

Louisa Houston yesterday celebrated her 100th birthday. The centenarian who hails from ‘B’ Field Sophia celebrated her milestone just by having all her children crowd her home. However, the fete is expected to be held today.

Houston is mother to 10, five of whom were daughters. However, only eight are alive. Her eldest offspring is 76 while the youngest is 61.

The widow is blessed enough to see 28 grand children, 82 great grand and 28 great great grand children.

During her former years, Houston worked “hard “as a domestic to take care of her children.

All Houston’s senses are functional. However, she has to be assisted to move around. Yesterday, she said that despite everything, she remains “happy to be alive”.
