Raphael Trotman, however, says that the coalition is rejecting the request on legal and other reason. He argued that the Representation of the People Act 1964 dictates that after statements of polls are posted there is a 12 hour window within which calls for recounts must be made. “The law says that you have twelve hours after that to contest or challenge the results. Or call for a recount. They failed to do that. Why can’t we stick with the law?” Trotman asks.

I understand and it doesn't matter at this point.

I am curious to know why it doesn't matter. We are not all privileged to have insider info.

It doesn't matter because the PPP has lost control of the narrative, the Great Powers' Ambassadors in Georgetown are reading them the riot act with pleasure, and the PPP/C thanks to their stupidity do not have a loyal Disciplined Forces to call upon while they dispatch the Attorney General to challenge the results in the High Court.

Were they read the riot act before GEOCOM had decided to announce the unofficial results? I ask because I was left with the impression that the PPP/C had the upper hand at 51%.

They HAD the upper hand with a slim and ultimately unsustainable 50.7% in the counting.

Now that GECOM has tallied all the votes, the PPP/C has apparently lost and that is the count GECOM intends to declare.

I have no hesitation whatsoever if the Coalition jails the leadership of the PPP.

That alone would be the greatest act of the Coalition for the betterment of Indian people and Guyana in general.

I get dizzy trying to keep up with your changes.

I do agree that it is better for Indians, but also for Africans, Amerindians, Portuguese, Chinese, mixed and for any other person who considers himself Guyanese.

Mono racial rule is unsustainable in a multi ethnic society.

Excluding 40% of the population (either Indian, or African/ZAfro identified mixed) is unsustainable in a society which claims to be democratic.

The new APNU AFC coalition have succeeded in getting an opportunity to solve the many challenges that Guyana has due to its unique and highly dysfunctional post independence political history.

We muct all hope that they rise to the occasion, and despite what Kari desires, we must all join to hold them accountable, whether we supported them or the PPP.

I wish the PPP the best as they purge themselves of the corrupt and the racist.  The need to re emerge as a MULTI ETHNIC and ethical party.  Guyana needs a strong opposition.

So they will wail and weep tonight.  Blame "black man for tiefing de election".  Scream that this is 1964 where the ABC countries conspired against them. Wail that Granger will treat Nagamootoo just as Burnham treated D'Aguiar.

And then they will dry their tears and do what they must, unless their plan is to disappear from the scene as has the UF.

Janet will descend on Ramotar tonight, and whip him for letting the PNC "steal" Guyana.  Too bad.  The PPP do not own Guyana and do not have a right to rule for ever.

this is the true "ethnic security problem" dominating the strategic thinking of Shaitaan and other Guyanese "true Indians"

parse the full statement carefully . . .
