Unfortunately the pay for such jobs are still very low.

I learned all those basic stitch in home ec. I'm sure there are some Guyanese woman out there looking for a job right now. Too bad I don't know any.

Cham I think most of us started all over again when we came. I left a nice cushy government job and started as a store clerk. On my feet all day and minimum wage.

I would have applied...only thing...I took a mandatory sewing class in High School...and when I got on the sewing machine the darn thing kept going backwards...

I am a certified seamstress from Singers . I used to  design clothes and take to Guyana stores , Make sample then they will order from me.  But after coming to Canada could not find any job . Just change to ECE . but still love to sew, Private  people do not want to pay for my work.want it for free .

I could used a cutting Machine, button tac, Hem. ziz  zag too.
