The US, UK & Canada are advanced parliamentary democracies. Guyana and other Third World countries got independence only relatively recently. The overwhelming majority of them have corrupt governments prone to authoritarianism. Hence the need for credible international observers. Regrettably we are not living in a perfect world. I would gladly welcome the day when Guyana gets mature and responsible politicians with integrity.

How did the PPP decipher the count of the votes from the Army and the Police?
PPP/C's lead is now further narrowed to 17,717 with 422 of 879 boxes counted in Region 4.

The recount is not a lie. The Politicians can lie as long as they want. The result is not going to change. When the declaration is made, the winner will form the Government. If there is any discrepancy, it will have to go through the courts, which will decide if there is any grounds for a new elections or charge those who breach election laws or rules.
