Much of this is out of spite for the other person.  Just recently a man took his kid and jumped off a Manhattan high rise. He felt he was unjustly treated by the courts and wanted to spite the mother.   Years ago a mother sent her car into a river in Tennessee with her two sons.  She then claimed a Blackman hi jacked the car with the boys.  She wanted to spite the father who wanted custody.

It is unfortunate when the innocent children pay the price.  They did not choose this. I don’t know what law can address that issue.

These problems are borderless and spans all cultures.

Despite no such report from the media, I was also assuming that some mental health issue was involved here. We will get more information as time goes by.

It appears that the father is in hospital under police guard.

It’s hard to predict what will happen when emotional matters are confronted. There is no logical predictable outcome.  According to his family he had no history of violence.  Despite their separation, they attended a recent family gathering and all seemed fine.  How could anyone have known his next move?  He seemed to have descended in some sort of depression.

That was the Susan Smith case. She was a divorcee who had two sons. She wanted to marry the son of a billionaire but the rich man did not want step kids so she killed her kids and said that a black man did it.
