Rose Hall Town Jammers continue winning ways

The Rose Hall Town Jammers continued their dominance as they stretched their unbeaten run when the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association 2017 Tournament for Teams in Berbice sponsored by Nigel Hinds Financial Net on Sunday at Fyrish Basketball Court continued with one game. Their latest opponents were the Fyrish Black Sharks who lost 71 – 52 in the first Semi Final of the tournament.
Fyrish led the first quarter 14-13, while at half time, Jammers moved out 29-24. The third quarter ended 53-37 for Rose Hall Town Jammers. Kevon Wiggins 30 points, 3 steal, Michael Lewis 16 points, 1 steal and Perry Cort 6 points led the winners. For Sharks, Linden Joseph had 18 points, 2 steal, while Keenan Williams scored 11 points and Garfield Benjamin 13 points 2 steals.
The competition will continue Sunday on the west side at Ithaca Basketball Court with Ithaca Hardlinders taking on New Amsterdam Warriors in the second Semi Final.
Six teams are involved in the competition which is being played on a round Robin basis in two zones. Zone A includes Canje Knight, Fyrish Black Shark and Ithaca Hardliners, while Zone B comprises of Rose Hall Town Jammers, Hopetown Stealers and N.A. Warriors.
Trophies, cash and other incentives are up for grabs. The tournament is being organized by Vibert Garrett.
