THE Parliamentary Opposition yesterday played every trick in the book to prevent Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee from tabling the Firearms (Amendment) Bill for the first reading in the National Assembly, but to no avail.

The New Nation had a section called "Good Living". The PNC never acknowledged that the economy collapsed and Guyanese were starving.

Caribj:

Man you are so right about blackouts, food shortage and violence. It all happened after 1962 when the CIA and John Kennedy overthrew the PPP goverment and installed the dictatorship of Forbes Burnall. After 1964 elections we saw Guyana slowly dying a painful death. The owners of large generators generating electricty for their area were prevented from acquiring spare parts. The PNC use to bus hooligans from negro dominated areas to terrorise Indians. We went from the breadbasket of the Carribean to second to Haiti. Police and GDF members would ransacked the houses of indians searching for banned goods. Indians and negroes stood in lines for hours waiting to get a pound of sugar. I could go on and on.

I lived in the 50's and 60's in Guyana and experience the hardship of all Guyanese. Negores suffered the same fate. We had a negro family living near us and the family complained bitterly. The PNC ministers' comrades use to go up to the Corentyne to buy flour and other banned goods so the ministers could get food.

I was there on one occasion in the 70's when a couple of their comrades got into accident and died. It was like dog eat dog. Life got worse under Burnall.

And thank god for Hoyte Janet Jagan was not able to install her version of a Castroite Marxist Leninist dictatorship otherwise Guyana would be just like Cuba.

Dont know why you all defend the PPP because they are realluy no better than the PNC.

Why you did not tell Comrade Janet that nonsence when she was alive.  She would have bust up you mad r-ss herself.

Forbes Burnall destroyed Guyana. In 1992 the PPP rescued Guyana. PNC ruled for 28 years and I am hoping the PPP rule for 128 years.
