Its Jagdeo that is taking Indians from the list. When Jagdeo tells his supporters to set dogs on the GECOM people they aren't on the list.

Put it this way. More than 10k Guyanese live in T&T (some claim as many as 20k), and most are Indians.  They are citizens of a Commonwealth nation meaning that once they have residence in T&T they can vote.  You know they aren't voting PNM.....so why will the PNM like them.

Look at Guyana. Haitians arrive and race out of Guyana as soon as their smugglers can get them out.  Fleeing every where except to Venezuela.  Haiti is the poorest country in CARICOM and Guyana the 2nd poorest. Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria and Gabon are booming too and yet most living there are dirt poor.  Already what motivates Guyana are two tribal elites rubbing their hands with greed. No vision from either.  Not telling people how the benefits will be equitably spread.

Oil will be drilled out of the seabed, loaded onto a ship and then the ship departs for Texas.  So aside from a few score jobs on the oil rigs and a few hundred more on land servicing the oil companies where are these jobs to come.

Yes I am glad that you notice the "oil curse".  Prices are becoming inflated even as there is no evidence that domestic economic activity merits this.  So as real estate is focused on the Exxon folks and overseas based Guyanese where is the boom? And if Guyanese dont benefit why do you think that other poor people arriving for jobs will?

Now what does any of that squandering of oil wealth  has to do with what I said?  And of course the ministers will have to spend their loot somewhere besides on the costa del sol, Ibiza  and the west coast so some crumbs will fall for low level workers that is marginally over what is in their countries. If for example, if a minister like the entertainment luxury of camel races ( it can happen) someone has to feed the camels and clean the stalls!
