THE INDIGENOUS CONGRESS FOR ALLIANCE " ICA " CONDEMN THIS CRUCIAL ACT OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST OUR INDIGENOUS WOMEN.
We were saddened upon receiving information this morning of Ms. Gladys Dianne Emmanuel, a 25 year Lab Technician of Frontier Pharmacy Lethem who were shot in the abdomen by Mr. Carl Singh " Regional Executive Officer " Region #9 sometime after 01:00 am this morning bearing in mind the National curfew.
Credible Information from reliable sources reaching the "ICA" states that Mr. Singh who recently obtained his firearm through this current administration is known as a very arrogant individual who is no stranger to domestic violence against young underage Indigenous girls he preys.
It was also said said to me that Mr. Singh is usually seen flashing his firearm in his waist and at times firing shots in the air as a showoff.
I also personally met out to the family of Ms. Emmanuel who indicated to me that they were deprived from seeing her as she is highly guarded by police and upon visiting the Lethem Police Station Mr. Singh was not in the lockups but instead sitting outside with his family.
THE INDIGENOUS CONGRESS FOR ALLIANCE " ICA " CONDEMN THIS CRUCIAL ACT OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST OUR INDIGENOUS WOMEN which has been a continuous deafening silence that is intentionally being ignored for decades in Guyana.
The ICA and indigenous peoples across Guyana is calling on the resignation of Mr. Carl Singh as REO of Region #9 with immediate effect and justice being served to this young woman and her family.
