. What has Bill Clinton done?

It's not a matter of insisting on hiring,.

This country had boom times in parts of the Reagan era.  Black unemployment SOARED.

Median household incomes PEAKED in the later Clinton years, and blacks were BETTER off than they had ever been. They lost a lot of ground under George W Bush. FACTS!

Unless there is a concerted effort to prevent certain types of people from engaging in racism, especially against less educated black men, we will have this problem.

Trumps goons tell blacks to go and pick cotton, or to go back to Africa.  You think that any of these are going to hire blacks?  Note that many will be union people who do have the power to determine who is sent out on a job, and who isn't.

Large institutions (corporations and the public sector) are most inclined to hire blacks. Why? Because they fear a public shaming if its disclosed that they engage in racist tactics.

Trump will have to do what Bill Clinton did, and that is to have an environment where it is made clear that blacks are considered competent and can succeed based on merit.

Sadly Obama couldn't do that, because racists like you would then scream that he is only favoring blacks. So people have "permission" to continue to exclude!

Again, what has your bad boy Obama done to substantively and in a sustained way, change the Black situation?

I can tell you what Obama did. He gave blacks the psychic belief that a black man can succeed to become the most powerful man in the world.

And at least the black upper middle class has benefitted from this symbolism, as more whites are open to blacks in power positions.  Blacks are way more visible in the serious media than they were prior to 2008.

Now what will Trump do?  He isn't black, so there isn't any symbolism.

His goons scream that blacks should back to Africa, and earn the fare to do so by picking cotton.  How encouraging baseman.

Obama is the Pres of US, not the Pres of any specific race...this is not Guyana where it is par for the course to play racial politics

While he is president of the USA, and not of one race, it is a valid criticism of Obama that he has failed to improve access of the non elite blacks to opportunity.  There are many "non racial" ways that he could have done so.

His failure to do so will be used by racists like baseman to insist that a racist bigot like Trump can do no worse.

So then, why all alyuh asking what Trump gon do fuh Blacks.  He will be Prezzy of the US, not for a race!!

And of course baseman proves me right as to how he would react.

Trump can encourage his goons to scream "go pick cotton and go back to Africa", and we don't have a right to ensure that a fascist like him isn't humiliated in Nov.

Trump will win many states. He will likely lose NC, AZ and all the other states that Romney lost last time.

Don't under estimate that man, and I hope that Hillary isn't. She has some negatives, the largest being turn out. The GOP had far larger turn out in their primaries than the Democrats. Could it be that the Democrats just aren't impressed with either candidate?

I fear too much complacency among some Democratic supporters.

1.  Black turnout was steeply down?   Is it Obama fatigue, now that he isn't running?

2. Hillary seems to have a problem with the white working class. Will they turn out?

3. TRump is a very unconventional, and media savvy lunatic.  Will his Real Housewives act obscure serious debate, which is Hillary's strength.

Good thing though.  Boehner is going to recommend that Ryan by nominated, should Trump not get the 1,200 delegates that he needs.  If the GOP convention turns out to be a blood bath, with Trump screaming, as he has been at his rallies, Hillary wouldn't have to worry.

Trump will be ignored by the real conservatives in the General elections...they see his support of Planned Parenthood and other liberal issues as a non starter

Basically, he will be looking for democratic votes to help him win....some independent voters who tend to vote democratic are supporting him now, but there are many issues with Trump to come up yet...

His tax returns will be a bigger issue than it is now, his bankruptcies will come under more scrunity, his knock on women and minorities will also hurt him..his GOP rivals waited too late before they started attacking, Dems will not make the same mistake

That first grade speech he keeps repeating is beginning to wear people out, he obviously is not capable of more indepth analysis and he will be shown up in a 2 person debate...

He has been lucky that there are 4-5 people debating...yuh notice he don't want to debate anymore....he has no clue about issues...he was just running on one liners which resonated with lots of the people with just a high school education...lets see how he does now

Boehner is saying that he will back Ryan to be the candidate at the brokered convention.  That being the goal of the GOP elite.

They don't plan to abandon the "stop Trump" brigade to soon.

We will watch the GOP country club set in pitched battle with Trump's brown shirts.  Hillary will have her spies inside taking videos for use by her Super PAC dirty campaigning squad come August and September.

Alyuh funny, first thank god for Kasich for OH, now thank god for cry-a-baby for putting up Ryan.

If they want to really concede, let them do that.  They alienate Trump's supporters, forget it!!  But I know, it's exactly what you want.

Personally, I don't think it will happen!!

The GOP elite don't plan to concede to Trump.

We are eagerly awaiting Trump's goon squad attacking other GOP at the convention, with Trump squealing "bash their faces and take them out in stretchers for defying me".

But you did support the "big heads, black face, race mongering idiots" to pillage, rape, murder and destroy Indian property, life and limb in the 60's in Guyana!!

Anyone willing to bring up things that happened fifty years ago when there are many things needing to take care of that happened just a measly few years back is obviously stuck in the past and should do their utmost to get back on track, life goes on.

Am ever amazed that he has so much support. But there are all kinds of people some with heads screwed on right and some not.

No need to be amazed Susan. The GOP over the last decade has set unrealistic political goals to help its supporters (mostly blue collar workers) and could not stop Obama's programs. Then they sell Obama's programs as not working in their favor. So they get annoyed with the GOP and along comes Trump to channel that disgust. It doesn't matter if he's a right wing authoritarian, it is perfectly explainable.

The question is whether the numbers of voters of this profile outnumber those of Independent voters, and this is where the reason for you being amazed comes in to play and keep the world normal. Most of the Independents are turned off by Trump's antics and that will be his undoing in November as Ii expect he will be the GOP candidate when the counting in Cleveland is over.

It really is a sad indictment on all Americans that a racist moron like Trump has managed to dupe so many of them for so long. It would have been so nice if one of the guys who invaded his stage a few nights ago had left a few of this idiot's teeth on the floor !

Trump is simply a reaction to Obama as Obama was a reaction to Bush!!
