At least three new faces are to take up parliamentary seats for the Alliance For Change when the 10th Parliament is constituted later this month.

Party leader Raphael Trotman and Chairman Khemraj Ramjattan are the only two of the five MPs from the previous parliament returning to the House. The AFC is returning to the House with seven seats, two more than they previously held.

According to an AFC official who chose to remain unnamed, the newcomers are party executives Cathy Hughes and Veerasammy Ramayya and youth representative Trevor Williams.

Former PPP member Moses Nagamootoo will be facing members of the party he called home for some 50 years from the AFC benches.

The representative for Region Eight is still to be finalized though consultations the official said. Meanwhile, the official also sought to dispel rumours that the AFC was joining with the PPP.

According to the individual, they support A Partnership for National Unity’s (APNU) call for a reconciliation of the statements of poll but were not questioning the results from GECOM since they matched closely with what the party had.

The party official said that the AFC will be making its statements available for the exercise. The APNU has been demanding an all-party verification of the statements of polls saying that there were too many discrepancies in the process particularly in Region Four.

Yes you are right, after all he's a bareface scamp. Ppp won't have a choice but to accept him.

But it is very likely that the PPP may need Moses given the outcome of this election. The people have spoken and maybe this is the time that a turning point in Guyana political landscape is making history.

The future is now for us to speculate - politically speaking of course.

May everyone seeking to participate in the political process and contribute to the development of Guyana, receive some respect for their efforts.

I believe this rumor is true but too early to make public. I have good reasons to back up my belief. I doubt whether D2's idea of dismantling the PPP will ever hold up.

Word is that AFC will work closely with the PPP but really the PPP should also court the APNU MP's as well.

This is what the PPP hopes, but if they do so they are finished. Ditto if they become hand maidens of APNU.

With their scanty number of seats they are in a difficult poistion to be truly independent.

Moses is a nimakaram. They must be very foolish to trust him in the first place...

On what metric do you measure trust? Obviously if it is by plebiscite the PPP is on the losing side of the trust equation!
