Still don't see what 2 AM closures have to do with reducing crime, when most crime occurs at other hours.

Yes I know that a bunch of grumpy men, suffering from middle aged crisis will feel happy, until a gang of gun men invade their homes or places of business at 8PM.

In the meantime I enjoy seeing cops harassing innocent people at 2 AM while the criminals continue to ply their trade.

Regardless as to whether Ramjattan is a lawyer or not, it is clear that he has NO idea how to reduce crime!

No one cares to make you see what you will not. In DC the streets used to be packed in a specific area of town, producing parking headaches for residents plus minor vandalism and noise pollution. It is now quite peaceful to the benefit of all as the rowdy college kids go home.

Many other cities have the same. It serves many purposes not specifically to curbing crime but to enhance quality of life. It is not a panacea but it is a start and anything that can help will help.

Guyanese living in a stage of fear, not even safe in their own homes and all the grumpy old man can think if is that kids are having too much fun at 3 AM and this must stop.

As of now SAFETY ought to be the priority.  Not wasting the police force on forcing bars to close.

If Rohee had done this you would be laughing at his incompetence.
