President Jagdeo calls for unity to continue progress in Guyana

President Bharrat Jagdeo has urged citizens to remain united so that progress can continue under the Peoples Progressive Party/ Civic Government. The Head of State was at the time addressing the Peoples Progressive Party/Civic campaign rally held in Region Ten on Sunday.

“The struggle never stops because we firmly believe this country has to be united if it is going to make progress, so our party is open for everyone” President Jagdeo said.

According to the Head of State, his government wants to build a Guyana where the colour of one skin does not matter. In addition, the Guyanese leader urged those that were present to be prepared to defend against negativity.

“It requires hard work to do this, we would never allow them to kill our dreams, the dreams of Guyanese people we would never allow them to do that”

He told the citizens that the PPP/C party is about serious policies adding that it has a vision where the people are central to it. The president also spoke of the extensive struggle that the party waged to bring freedom to all Guyanese and free it from the colonial masters.

With approximately six weeks left for the November 28 polls the Guyanese head of state urged citizens to make serious reflections on how far Guyana has come so that they can approach the polls wisely. He reiterated his confidence in a Donald Ramotar led government.

“I am convinced that 5 years from now you will be a standing here and celebrating Donald Ramotar has taken our country to a better place than it is today here and that Linden Region 10 would be central to that progress, but you have a role to play”
