Ralph Ramkarran is no traitorPDFPrintE-mail

Khemraj Ramjattan is trying his utmost to corrupt PPP supporters into thinking the way he and Moses Nagamootoo do, that joining with the PNC could get the collective into government. The problem is that all of the so-called leaders of the opposition are presidential hopefuls who each aspire to a ‘high place in any governmental construct; so it would be interesting to see the fallout if the joint opposition ever ascends to the highest office in the land.  The resultant cat-fight would beat any international fighting bout.
The ultimate opportunist has been trying to inveigle the older freedom-fighters of the PPP to join them in their notorious forays in destabilizing the PPP/C administration, which would lend them credibility.
So he has been gleeful, while shedding crocodile tears, at former Speaker of the House, veteran politician Ralph Ramkarran’s decision to resign from the party he has, as have his parents before him, spent a lifetime serving; admittedly as a result of a misunderstanding between himself and another party executive member.
However, while the party was happy to be rid of Ramjattan and Nagamootoo, Ralph Ramkarran is another matter. He s one of the old stalwarts who is intrinsically linked to the values of the founders of the party, Dr. and Mrs. Jagan, and there is every likelihood that he would reconsider leaving the party to which he had dedicated a lifetime of service over a minor issue.  He is certainly too valued within party ranks and it is without doubt that the party would prevail upon him to change his decision.
This has been made clear in a press release issued by that party, which states: “The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) received the letter of resignation, from the party, from Mr. Ralph Ramkarran on June 30th, 2012.
As was stated in Cde Ramkarran’s press statement, the trigger for this was a very heated discussion at the Executive Committee Meeting held on June 29th, 2012.
Fiery debates are not unusual in the Party, unfortunately this one led to a resignation. In fact, the Party's leadership encourages open and frank deliberation on all issues with members given the opportunity to fully participate.
The Party’s EXCO still hopes that Cde Ramkarran will reconsider his action as there is no fundamental disagreement on any policy issue. It was a case where Cde. Ramkarran felt insulted by the remarks of another member and left the meeting before it concluded. The offending remark was withdrawn by the member and an apology was also offered.
The Party wishes to state that Cde Ramkarran is a long-standing and highly-respected member. He has made very valuable contributions to the Party and the country as a whole.
We intend to engage Cde Ramkarran in further discussions with a view of reconciling the matter. This is an approach we have always taken in such situations.”
Ralph Ramkarran has always been dutiful to his party and his country.  Both are today sorely in need of his services, maybe as never before, and the party is hoping that he changes his mind.
But even if he does not change his mind about resigning his political membership, there is scant likelihood that Ramjattan’s wishes would be fulfilled, because Ralph Ramkarran is astute enough to recognise that he has nothing to gain, but will certainly lose his good name and tarnish his pristine image if he ever joins the ranks of the ilk of Ramjattan and Nagamootoo.
He has a rare wisdom that he has demonstrated for years while he served as Speaker, and the kind of integrity that the likes of Ramjattan and Nagamootoo can never aspire to. He is fully aware that joining the AFC would be empowering the PNC, and that would threaten the bastion of democracy that his parents and himself had fought for all of their lives.  Ralph Ramkarran is no turncoat and, let alone his country, Ralph Ramkarran would never betray the sacred memory of his parents.

These bastards  have  absolutely no  shame. Like a  cheap ho,  they would  stop  at  nothing to woo Ralph Ramkarran  back into  their foul  embrace. Should    fall  for  this  slop, then  he  deserve  a kick  in  the pants before  being  thrown  under the  bus.  In  similar fashion, they  used Moses  for  the  2006 Elections when  they  realized that  they  were  in  deep shyt, then  immediately kicked  him  to  the  curb.  Bet the  'other  member'  involved  is the  moron  Rohee.

The contretemps at the Friday meeting revolved around an explosive column in the Mirror newspaper last month in which Ramkarran called on the government to do something about the “pervasive” corruption in the country.

Political analysts say the resignation is a serious blow to the party and its credibility in the wake of other setbacks. The analysts point to the departure of party veteran and stalwart Moses Nagamootoo, the PPP/C’s loss of thousands of votes at last year’s general elections, the surge in support for the AFC in the sugar belt, the party’s losing of control of Parliament to the opposition and scathing remarks about party officials by Nadira Jagan-Brancier, the daughter of the late presidents Cheddi and Janet Jagan. Jagan-Brancier had been concerned that the party was straying from the precepts of honesty and frugality laid down by the Jagans.

On top of this, the analysts say that Ramkarran’s departure would seriously weaken the party in the eyes of its constituency. Ramkarran’s father, Boysie Ramkarran, was a contemporary of Cheddi Jagan and a popular party leader with close links to sugar workers.

And  when everything  fail to  woo poor Ralphie  back,  then  we  shall deploy the  muckraking,  character assassination Hatchet Gang  Of  Freedom House to  do  what  they  do  best.  In  quick  time the  "long  standing  highly  respected Cde.  Ramkarran"   shall  take   his rightful place   in  his  new  slot  alongside  Neemakhrams  Khemraj Ramjattan, Moses  Nagamoottoo and  Rajindra  Bissessar.

Ralph has outlived his political usefulness in the party. The AFC would do well to bring him on board, however note that he will be bringing the corrupt way that he fostered in the PPP over to the AFC. But then again masters of corruption Ramjattan and Nagamooto are already there.

Mr Ramkarran is quite a wealthy accomplished individual.  I doubt whether he will go back to Any Political Party.

he has left with dignity.  It's dufficult to find someone of his calibre to replace him.  the PPP needs to recruit young, bright dedicated minds if they want to survive.

Alena, with the fear of ethnic re-enslavement, the PPP could recruit cows, they will still survive and get the votes to rule.

No report has thus far given us any details of this controversy that made Mr. Ramkarran resigned. It has to be of a very serious nature.  I would like to know the following:

1) What was this heated discussion about?

2) What is EXCO and who are its members?

3) To say there was no fundamental difference on any policy issue is to pass it off easy. Please elaborate.

4) What was the nature of the offending remark used against Mr. Ramkarran by a member of EXCO?

5) What matter is the PPP now asking Mr. Ramkarran to reconcile?

I do not believe in Violence but someone should do it to whoever it was.

Moses had said in an interview that a woman on the committee who he believed was his friend for many years started saying terrible things about him at the meeting before he quit.

Most likely it is the same woman who insulted Ralph.

Ralph should consider this if going back.  He will be running the risk of this happening.

1.  For a year they will Ralphie darling him.

2.  After the year is done and everyone had forgot Ralph had quit. You will hear

"Ralph get the F in the corner and wait there".

3.  Then on one will take Ralph seriously again.

Instead Ralph should help to set up a new "PPP Jagan party" run by a moderate Jagan such as Nadira, Clive or Barbara.

Waste of time.  Indians will not leave the institution of the PPP risking a rise of the PNC.  For Indians, the institution is what matters and the leaders of the current PPP cabal knows that very well, so they taking advantage to the hilt.

 Prash,

There  is  nothing  omnipotent or  omniscience  about  the  Jagan's  name. Furthe,  dynastic  leadership and  politics  has  been  a disaster  where ever it was practiced in  the  world. The  Nehru Dynasty  readily comes  to  mind.  Closer  to  home, there was  Papa Doc/ Baby  Doc,  Vere  Bird/ Lester Bird,  all  festered  with rampant  corruption  and  incestuous conducts  in  State  Affairs.

What  is  sorely  lacking   and  so  essential in  Guyana,  is grass root re-energization & re-empowerment, where leaders are held  accountable for  their  action  in  and  out  of office. Guyanese  politicians  have a  deeply  engrained tendency  to  be puffed  up, arrogant and self  righteous. They  struts around  like peacocks but  roost  with  vultures  &  carrion  crows. They  waxed  eloquent,  but  carry  on like  bandits.

Dem boys seh…Ralphie lef and Donald gun get lef

Dem got nuff Goolsarran in Guyana just like how dem got de Lalls and Harrises. But two of dem Goolsarran is definitely thief. One of dem had runnings wid textbooks and de other had runnings wid couple GT&T man.
De one who was de biggest crook in de textbook scandal had millions pass through he hand and dem boys want to know how come he nah get jail yet.
De other one who like telephone money collect that money and put it in he bank book and claim how he was doing Hen See Hen a favour. Jail gun pick he soon because Uncle Donald seh that he ain’t done wid he yet. Just like how Ralphie ain’t done wid de PPP yet. He seh that he gun go back only if Donald deal wid Jagdeo and dem li’l thiefing kavakamites.
Ralphie re-tiling one of he bathroom and he seh that every tile he turn centipede deh underneath. Same way Donald turning leaf in dem book wha he got pun he desk fuh look at dem deal and he finding thiefing under every page.
Gail, Cement and de Bukta involve. Jagdeo haul dem in just like how he mek he last haul wid de airport deal before he come out. Ralphie seh that dem three is nobody. One use to thief bicycle outside cinema, one get slap from Cheddi fuh collecting ten per cent bribe, this time not from de Chinese. Was fuh contracts to build pontoons.
Gail settle fuh a small piece from Ohh Pee and dem frighten that all this gun come out during de investigation.
Rob Earth, Irfaat and Shaatie and Brazzie, Donald don’t have to do no investigation. In fact, de jail cells clean out and waiting fuh dem.
But dem boys seh that Ralphie lef and if Uncle Donald ain’t act too fast he gun get lef.
Talk half and right de other half.

So  I was  right  on  target  regarding  the  Goatman  and  Gail,  but  forgot  that  Mr.  10% cum  25% Bukta  was  still  safely  ensconced  in  The  OP with  lips  firmly   clasped  on  the  Public  teat.
