PPP files motion in NA against outages

January 29, 2015 , Source - Media Cell

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Wednesday submitted a calling attention notice in the National Assembly Secretariat against the massive load shedding in the country, which the party said is adversely affecting the domestic and industrial consumers. MNAs Imran Zafar Laghari, Shazia Mari, Nafeesa Shah, Aijaz Jakhrani and Abdul Sattar Bachani submitted the notice under Rule 88 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in National Assembly 2007.

They drew the attention of Minister of Water and Power towards the massive unscheduled load shedding of up to 18 hours in various parts of the country especially Sindh which has made the life of people miserable.

This load shedding is badly affecting both domestic and industrial activities and people see no difference between day and night as darkness prevails all the time and no activity takes place.

People are forced to live without gas, petrol and electricity, it noted. The present government has so far failed to live up to the expectations of people and unable to deliver especially when it comes to provision of basic necessities to general public. Government’s ill-devised policies and actions have moved the country into a whirlpool of crisis, it added.
