On a serious note. You have party stalwarts like Gilbakka, Churchill, Odeen and others who went down into the trenches and fought for the party when they were opposition yet this highlifer who was no where to be seen in the lean years except in his lucrative practice is being honoured.

Prash, Gilbakka made only a modest contribution to the PPP from 1969 to 1992. It was a labor of love. Ashton Chase deserves tributes on his 90th birthday. When the PPP was in opposition and GAWU sugar workers were victimized by Bookers and Sandbach Parker and later GuySuCo, Ashton Chase represented them in the law courts. He is a legal specialist in workers' compensation. Also, during that same period I saw him at some Freedom House commemorative functions.

This banna is 90 and going strong.  Nice of the PPP to acknowledge him in a grand way.  Good show of racial diversity at Freedom House there.

The PPP sidelined him when it became the "coolie people party", hiding him, and only trotting him out when they wanted a black symbol.

Its good that they acknowledge him before he meets his maker.

Of all the lies you have on GNI, this one is the dirtiest.  Ashton Chase was asked by Jagan to be deputy of the PPP and he chose to give that position to Burnham.  When the PPP put him on their ticket to be President in 1973, the National Assembly in a rigged vote gave that position to Arthur Chung, the PNC man.

Of course the PPP wanted Ashton Chase to be a figure head like Arthur Chung. Smiling, impotent, and useless.  That is how they see blacks.

This man had a pretty young wife and a bunch of young children when he was like 60 years old. That is the type of man East Indians men should follow to bring that birth rate up. Get busy fellows.

Bowi, what you have against a young wife?  It keeps and man's heart pumping blood to the "extremities"!!

Carib - here is a pic of Ashton's daughter Pauline with her mom.  He fathered her in his 60s.  Nothing impotent about that.
