Police Commissioner, Leslie James

Commissioner of Police Leslie James is urging for the current “calm, peace and tranquillity should remain throughout the Nation as the decision of the Court of Appeal is pending” regarding the December 21 No Confidence Motion that was successfully passed against the Coalition Government.

A statement from the Top Cop Thursday noted that the leadership of the Police Force has noted: “notions of a seeming intention to disrupt the current calm in our society” on social media.

As such, the Police Commissioner revealed that Police ranks throughout the country are on high alert.

“May I warn that anyone found in breach of the law will be dealt with in a condign manner. The Force’s membership throughout the ten (10) Administrative Regions, is on high alert and endeavours to prevent and respond to any eventuality.”

The Guyana Court of Appeal will be delivering its ruling at 15:00hrs Friday on all three of the challenges to the motion.

Meanwhile, the Top Cop also debunked reports in the media that the Guyana Police Force has NOT been renamed the Guyana Police Service.

He explained that the name change was proposed only at the meeting of the Police Reform Change Board (PRCB).

“Such name change will require, among other things, wider consultations and legislative amendments,” Police Commissioner James said.

So far all the agent provocateurs have come from the PPP. Jagdeo himself called for violent action against anyone who sees things different to him. Newspapers and current members of parliament who are not from the PPP face death and harm. Previous calls by Jagdeo have seen the death of minister Sawh and several media staff. So hopefully the police is alert and ready to look for PPP trouble makers.

Not officially.

Jagdeo just agreed with the Carter center’s position, so that’s a tacit approval for the continuation of the current regime!

APNU will let loose their dogs of war and blame Jagdeo / PPP for the voilence.

PPP will start  protest at home, Trinidad, US and Canada today.

APNU Ministers were out canvassing with a walk about  and distributing flyers yesterday, advising residents to ignore Jagdeo calls about illegal government .. life goes on ( and the government is legal) until next month or next year when ever election is call.

Chronicle New paper FP call for peace. Police Force out with their statement... this is all a plan game by PNC.

If any shooting, will be against Indians.

Stop complaining.  PPP sat for 23 years and relied on PNC security institutions.

In the end, it doesn't matter what people say but how they are seen. For many years, Burnham acted like he was the overlord of Guyana but the vast Guyanese majority quietly had very strong disdain for him. He was quietly seen as a thug, fraud and despot. Indeed, death saved him from further disgust. The public was a bit kinder to Hoyte until he started his slo fiah mo fiah violent threats and then death also spared him further disdain. Granger seeking to follow in those two footsteps, most in Burnham's as he has been making regular pilgrimages to Burnham's empty grave is also about to be spared much more disdain as death is knocking loudly on his door. The PNC never failed to show how despotic they are.

Not sure “nice and tight” remains a viable option for long with so much hardness around!!

The good news is that after all is said and done, it always gets back to being nice and tight.

I am sharing my experience, having lived through PNC violent days and the protest during PPP terms in office  .

Days like today, some parents keep their children away from schools especially in GT.

- Most Stores will not display their products out doors.

- Security guards for the stores, will be on alert for looters .. with doors partially open.

- Markets will be like ghost town.. that's  where the prowlers start.

- The looters and trouble makers, don't only target Indians walking the pave … they will steal from any race ( but black women does beat their arss, )

- The trouble makers will target Indians property.

- Some business will bring in their bad boys to guard their property. These bad boys will sit in open pick up, park in front the store.

It will be a  wash out day for businesses. I hope the Cuban traders, stay away from GT.

Maybe all will be peaceful.. who knows …. but precaution is better.

The only ones screaming about violence have been Jagdeo and his friends. The PNC got the Carter Center to agree to a clean list so they got at least 5 months extension.

Let Jagdeo stage a coup if he thinks that the gov't is illegal.  That is the only way to remain relevant unless he becomes part of the process which includes GECOM and the Carter Center.

You all screamed this nonsense after the NCV. Nothing happened.  And it will not happen because the only angry person is Jagdeo who failed to get the Carter Center to agree that elections should be held immediately.

Yo LIE AGAIN.

Carter suggested election in August. PPP Commissioners agree to Carter suggestion for the list. Not a house to house registration.

APNU is in government ( u knows that rite) it will look bad on them if voilence erupted on the street. The basil, Aubrey Norton  and James Bond haven’t call out the dogs.

They used the court as non violence to stay in government.

Time is up today ( 90 days ) hence the screaming of Voilence.. a notification to their dogs to be on stand by.

Of course nothing happened. Why? Because the PNC is still sitting in government, albeit illegally. If they are told that they have to turn over the keys, then their slo fiah mo fiah posse will burn the place down. That is their dismal history.
