RANKS of the Police Narcotics Branch and of ‘B’ Division conducted a drug eradication operation in the Hendrax, Berbice River area today.

During the exercise four fields of cannabis sativa (marijuana) plants, about 20 acres in size, were found.  The fields contained approximately 300,000 plants between  one foot and eight feet in height. The plants along with 400 kilograms of dried marijuana, 13 nurseries and 6 camps were destroyed.

No arrest was made.

anyone knows the scientific name for black sage? It is a hardy bush and grows rapidly under all sorts of harsh conditions. I know it burns well and wonder if it can be used for biomass technology
