-Organisers gearing up for massive turnout

With five days remaining, Organisers of the PNCR 60th Anniversary Day of Sports / Family Fun Day event are busy fine tuning preparations in anticipation of what is predicted to be an exciting day to celebrate the Party’s Diamond Jubilee.
The day’s activities will include rivalry in basketball, dominoes, futsal and athletics among some of the best athletes locally.
In keeping in line with the wishes of the Party, the Organisers have also included activities for fans and members of the Central Executive that will see them take part in novelty events such as the Lime and Spoon, Tug-o-War, 60 metres sprints, while a quiz contest for children is on the agenda as well.
According to a member of the Organising Committee, the event is being held under the theme ‘United and Strong: Sixty years on’ and Guyanese from all across the country are projected to converge at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground to commemorate what is certainly a significant achievement by the Party.
The official said the celebration is open to all Guyanese and urged that they come out and support the day’s activities and have fun whilst doing so.
Meanwhile, the teams for the futsal segment have already been identified and those invited to travel to the Mining Town to participate are Sparta Boss, Back Circle, Future Stars, West Front Road ‘Gold is Money’, Ol Skool Ballers, Albouystown ‘A’, Leopold Street and Broad Street.
