The sugar industry was the backbone of Guyana economy. 

In reality, majority of Indians paid out of their pocket ( depriving their children a good life ) to feed Linden ( mostly Afro. 

The sugar workers is owed $85M US.  

Yes sugar WAS the backbone. 4 decades ago. Since then the REST of Guyana has been subsidizing sugar worker jobs.  When the rest of the Caribbean shut down and drastically reduced their sugar industries Guyana should have done the same.  Even the DR and Cuba, long major global sugar producers, are down to a fraction of their former days.

So that sugar levy was repaid by the rest of Guyana LONG, LONG ago.

Total up all of the bailouts, subsidies, loan guarantees and other supports given to GuySICKO over the past 10+ years and it considerably exceeds half a BILLION dollars (US).
