According to information received, the body was spotted by passers-by who quickly alerted the Police.
Upon arriving at the scene, the Police cordoned off the area and immediately launched an investigation. Investigators are of the belief that the man who seemed to be his 30s might have taken his own life.
His body was taken to the Lyken Funeral Home to await identification and a post-mortem.
Only last week, 70-year-old Nowattie Doodnauth of Edinburgh Village, East Bank Berbice, was found hanging in her home.
The gruesome discovery was made by the woman’s son-in-law when he went to check on her.
It was reported that the woman was found hanging over her bed which is located under a step in the two-storey house. It is believed that the mother of six wrapped part of her bed sheet around her neck before tying the other end to the step.
She was found in a standing position with her feet firmly on the bed. Reports are the woman had attempted to take her own life twice in the past. Over the past weeks, several persons have taken their own lives.
This scourge has promoted various organisations to hold anti-suicide walks and seminars with the aim of addressing the epidemic.
