Neither the assurance by Citizenship Minister Winston Felix last evening that passport prices are not going up nor the rain deterred the determined from flocking the passport office on Camp Road this morning. This photo was taken at 7.06.

No increase in passport fees

Minister of Citizenship, Winston Felix, has assured that the fees for the application and processing of passports

Minister of Citizenship, Mr. Winston Felix

Minister of Citizenship, Mr. Winston Felix

have not been increased. He is refuting claims that costs have moved from $4000 to $15,000.
Minister Felix said, that no decision has been taken either by the Government of Guyana or by the Legislative Assembly to increase the fees and asserted that information circulating to the contrary is false and aimed at creating mischief.
Parliament has not approved the increase in the fees for the application for passports and there should be no need to rush to the passport offices in order to secure your passports in anticipation of the increase.
“No such increase will occur. Parliament has not approved of such increases. The information available is false and the public, who has now been sensitised, should now return to the normal process,” Minister Felix said.
The Minister noted that after the false reports were published, persons turned up in large numbers at the Central Immigration and Passport Office on Camp Street, Georgetown, in an effort to avoid paying the alleged increased fees.
However, he gave assurances that no such increases have been planned and advises the public to go about their normal business.
“We, the public officials, cannot unilaterally increase the cost of a passport. It will remain at $4000. Whatever the cost was, it remains the same. Any increase is false and ought to be ignored,” Minister Felix said.

Granger want the people to stay in Guyana for the big kill after Canada's travel warning to Guyana due to high crimes. You will get passports in one day when voting time comes so Indians can leave in a hurry. In the mean time, they will try to kill as many as they could. Blackman days are back and the neemakaram coolies will bow to Grainger feet.

Some are holding places and then selling them.

That's the most recent business created by the government, "Guy-Line".

Indeed, the resurgence of Guylines under the PNC is a reminder of the PNC days to those old enough to remember.  It is also possible that hard times under the PNC are driving people to leave the nation to become a burden on the rest of the Caribbean nations. Where is CaribJ? What say you now?

Back peddling again? If they are not raising passport fees, then why are all these people waiting in line?  Just for the fun of it?

Reminds me of the late 70's and 80's.

"Minister Felix said, that no decision has been taken either by the Government of Guyana or by the Legislative Assembly to increase the fees ......"

It is understandable if people don't believe the government. After all, it was not so long ago that they said there were no salary increases when there were indeed salary increases. How would this be any different?

What is the basis for Felix to suggest that someone is creating mischief?

Guyanese are reeling from voting for AFC/PNC. They voted for crooks, corruption and a bunch of liars who filled their pockets.

They are lining up to get passports to flee from this corrupt and crookish administration which looted the treasury and filled their pockets.

This is happening only one year later. Guyana will become a dog eat dog country under PNC part two.

Back peddling from something that never existed? How much more comical can you people get? They are waiting in line because some idiots started a rumor that the passport fees would be raised. Based on all the crap coming out of Freedumb House recently, fake travel warning, non-existent school closings, etc., it's plain to see that this is just another unfounded rumor.

Wow, what a sad man you are.

One day when I have nothing to do I will dig up those posts when you used to scream that blackman will never rule Guyana again.  This when Stormborn/D2 warned you that the diminishing Indian population meant that the PPP would lose power at some point.

There was a rumour Jagdeo was once married

In fact there are all of he rumors about hundreds of Indo females being raped in broad daylight by rapacious savage black men.

Why don't they address the savage way that Jagdeo brutalized his wife, which even included unceremoniously tossing her out of her home?

By then she was fully accepting of the fact that Jagdeo didn't want a wife, as he wanted to BE THE wife, so she made regular visits to certain people in RH to have a sexual needs taken care of.

So Jagdeo could have just slept with his men in a different bed room.

What is the basis for stating that Varshnee visited RH for sexual favors?

Jagdeo abuse for those who think that he was a kind man. Psychologically abused his wife, before finally humiliating her by locking her out.

And yet folks support this man.

Please re-read my question. I asked specifically about the basis for your statement that Varshnee visited RH for sexual favors. I couldn't care less about if Jagdeo is gay or not.

I can name her boy friends, but then that will open wounds.

Let us leave it at that. She was the first lady so became a public figure.  These others aren't.
