Hospice is not a word we do not want to hear when dealing with our loved ones. If(hoping for a miracle) and when he passes on, may his soul rest in peace.

I had a relative who died from cancer about two years ago. When the Doctor gave him up, he chose to spend his last days at home with his family, and he died one week later. He died peacefully because he never woke up that morning. He was not in denial that his time was almost up. His family was not in denial that they will lose a family member either. Knowing is always better than not knowing for simple reasons. You can say so much to your family before you leave them. You spend quality time with friends and people you love. You can eat belly full, drink belly full until your last breath. Think about it Skelly.

When my mother died, she knew she was living on borrowed time. She never wanted to die bedridden. She entrusted me with all her funeral details, and everything went as planned. At the hospital, the night before, she told me she is not coming home back. I was the the only person to hear that. 4:00 am the next morning, her life ended. Think about it Skelly.

I got a call from Guyana about 4:00 am also about my mother's death. I lost both of my parents in their 80s. My mother about 3 years ago.
My father in law was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He was living with us for about seven years. The doctors advised him to take chemo which would prolong his life for about 3-4 months longer than 6-9 months he was given to live. After thinking about it, he decided to refuse the chemo. He was told that he would be placed in a hospice. My wife asked me to go with her to the hospice center. To make a long story short, I told my wife that what I would want for my parents, I would want for hers. We decided that my father in law should live out the rest of his life at home. He died at home.

I also have had some Guyanese friends here died in their early 60s. We have buried our parents and now it's time to bury our siblings and friends.  Life goes on bro.
