Speeding, recklessness and carelessness are problems on Guyana’s roads. I remember telling a minibus driver to slow down during one of my visits. I could not tolerate him driving at those speeds while I was in the vehicle.

Passengers have to become more proactive and be able to report wreckless drivers. 

Road safety is everybody’s business. 

It is worse in Berbice where I stayed. Some drivers bought drivers licence and did not go through any official drivers training so they become driving time bombs on the roads.

I hope that those children are disciplined by the school. What is even worse is other children having fun instead of trying to stop the fight when it first started.

The stabbing is very shocking though. Weapons were not used during our time. I feel very sorry for that child.

Sadly that poor child was injured in that scuffle. 

Didn't know that time is something that Guyanese don't have. 

From our time to today, we have no control over how school children behave, but to outlawed caning will have a violent impact on teachers and children alike. A knife stuck in a child's back and no one seems to care.
