THE Alliance for Change (AFC) failed to attract much attention at Anna Regina but the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) attracted thousands at Charity, also on the Essequibo Coast. The two rallies were scheduled for the same time at the two different locations on Sunday and Essequibians made their choice as to which rally they would attend and show their support.
Some travelled from as far as Supenaam, Aurora, Huis T’Dieren, Pomona, Suddie, Golden Fleece, Airy Hall, Affiance, Columbia, Anna Regina, Richmond and Lima by trucks, buses and other means of transport to Charity to hear the PPP/C speakers, while the AFC at Anna Regina struggled to muster a crowd.
Scores who were at Charity said they are voting for the PPP/C on November 28 because of progress and development that is taking place under its government.
Those who are rice farmers said Dr. Cheddi Jagan is their father, who had given them the cup which has good things for all Guyanese and they are putting their X next to it.
The atmosphere at Charity was filled with music and dancing to ‘Dem a watch we’ and ‘What’s in my cup stays in my cup’ as speakers of the ruling party encouraged the massive gathering to go out early on Monday, November 28 and vote PPP/C, so that the party can secure a landslide victory with a bigger majority in Parliament.
