ONE WEEK after four members of a family were shot dead in their Chatham home, police have yet to make a breakthrough in the case.

No arrests have been made in the killings of Jeremy Toussaint, 24; his mother, Grace Toussaint, 55; and her husband, Peter Baptiste, 59; and his grandmother Lena Peters, 75.

Last Thursday, they were found with gunshot wounds to their heads, in a house in Chatham South Trace.

Police have said they suspect the killings were carried out by more than one person, but a suspect is yet to be detained.

Toussaint, police said, had given homicide detectives inΒformation on the murder of Steffon Sinnette, who lived four houses away from him and who was killed the week before.

Sinnette, 33, had been found shot dead in his house, hours after a confrontation with a 55-year-old man from his community.

Residents will hold a prayer service in their community tomorrow for the family of four, and for Sinnette.

President of the Chatham Village Council Dexter Mitchell said residents will gather at the Chatham Community Centre at 4 p.m. for a motorcade, which will proceed to the resiΒdences where the killings occurred.

At those residences, candles will be lit and the motorcade will return to the community centre for 5 p.m. where an interfaith service will be held.

The gathering is expected to be addressed by officials of the Victim Support Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
