This is another way of saying that they are still loyal to the PPP. Just dont like its recent behavior.

To think that almost 100% of the AFC's energies have gone into winning this bloc who arent prepared to see them lose, even if they are unhappy with its current direction.

They ignore Region 4 where most folks dont care about the PPP and have given up on the PNC.

Who handles these people's campaign strategy.

If you neglect your core base to run after some one else's, and your base stays away how do you expect to do well?

I am just amazed at the AFC spin.

You dont know what these people plan to do so how do you know they are planning to leave the PPP, instead of just being a little frustrated, but willing to give the PPP a chance to respond to them in its next term?

Unless you guys plan to rig the election (which you cant) stop counting the votes before they are cast when history shows, good times or bad, the Corentyne sticks with the PPP.

If you had more than three drinks dont answer because your writing will be too garbled to read.

There is no need to apologize. The rally is over and there hasn't been any complain of road blockage in Albion. The wise motorists understand it's a temporary inconvenience. Let common sense triumph without AFC impediment.

Where can anyone file a complain with at any PPP, before the event start ?

When the tourist minister over-ride the decision of Albion Guysuco managers not to have the Berbice Fair at Albion, thus destroying the grounds, causing Caribbean cricket matches to be cancelled, who do the youth complain to stop the madness ?

When the Albion road was blocked preventing the easy routing of fire trucks and ambulance, who do the people and managers complain to?

When PPP officials who were building the stage asked who gave permission to close the road, they were told ' we dont give a shit, go ask jagdeo'.

Is this a party that have the people's interest at heart or just their selfish reasons to get votes.

And they mean PPP, PNC,AFC,UF,WPA, you name it they are tired of it.

The things is that the PPP knows it too, which is why they resort to all sorts of tactics. Based on folks here the AFC has alreadfy counted up all the votes so they know they have won. Lets hope the guys with experience know better than this.

Good point...people living close to the rally were pissed because their afternon nap was disturbed.
If it were another party they would have still felt the same way.
This frustration might prevent many from going to the polling station. They see most day to day things frustrated by politics and they are getting overwhelmed.

Don't be silly. The people Sunday afternoon nap was disturbed. How often is a rally held at that spot. And if their nap was disturbed for one afternoon then it is in their interest to hear what this Party has to offer. If they don't like what they hear then they can vote for someone else, knowing that their votes will be counted fairly. Democracy is a wonderful thing!

Will appreciate info about how many people AFC attracts. You gauge PPP popularity on crowd size so you must do the same for the AFC.

As I keep on telling you all loss of support for the PPP and the PNC is more likely to translate into not voting than voting for the AFC.

The AFC needs to understand this so they can use their time wisely. Instead of spending all their time telling Guyanese what they already know, they ought to tell them why they feel they have the capacity to change things.

And not just having ideas. We have a professor in the USA who had loads of ideas, yet the USA is crashing quickly to Thord World status. You must prove you have teh capacity to implement.

So now we are getting some where. Once teh AFC understands this they will understand that they biggest enemy is not the PPP. Its apathy and the likelihood that the turn out this time will mirror 1973.

Alex, have you ever lived on a sugar plantation, especially where this rally was held. It was at the cross roads of a densely populated area and not everyone there support the PPP, mainly due to Ramo PPP destroying the sugar industry.
The people there work all week in the fields and want some R&R on the weekends. Most times their quietness is disturbed by the extemely loud music from the cricket complex that goes on all weekend. This is another sore point with the people, where the government gives permission for social events that destroy the cricket field, preventing Caribbean cricket, with atttendance of up to 10,000 to be cancelled due to the damaged grounds.
Knowing that narrow area, between the complex bridge and where the vehicles were parked near the main highway, with trenches on both sides, where the rally was held, there is no way the PPP could comfortable fit 20,000 people and vehicles there.

If you have not lived there, dont know the area or people, there is little use continuing this conversation.

Not too often and they wish the answer was NEVER.

If you follow recent letters in Stabroek News about cricket at Albion, you should be asking why has the PPP choose to have a rally blocking the main Albion road to ambulance and fire trucks, instead of the comfortable Albion cricket complex, which is just a few feet away.
There are many other open spaces in that area to have a rally.

Just as how the PPP over-ride desions by Albion managers not to have social events[Berbice Expo] at Albion cricket complex, they again over-ride safety concerns by Albion managers to block Albion road.
Is this a party that have the interest of ordinary Guyanese, or their own selfish reasons ?
Tola
The important thing to note here is that this event was scheduled and advertised to be held in albion ground it was held outside the ground why?

Because if that rent-a-crowd had gone into the grond the press and the cameras would have easily seen that they barely had 8,000 people there.

So the swaree and the spote was held outside. ;-)

Moses navin and Komal must be laughing their asses off
J
I received word from a reliable source that the count was in the vicinity of 7,000 persons....there were about twenty truck loads from different points of the country and each truck had the capacity of about 60 persons....

Tola was correct ....the area where the rally was held cannot accomodate 20,000 persons....

When Ramouthar was speaking many left the rally and headed for their homes....many walked so this tells us that a significant amount of the residents of the area did not want to hear what Ramouthar had to say....

I was also told that in the small crowd were some relatives of the fishermen who were recently hijacked and they left when Rohee went to the mike.....
FM
who cares if there were twenty thousand there? I doubt that number given the capacity of that stadium. The point is we care that the young kids not that old intractably racist fool (talking about jackasses and blind people and black man) will come out and vote for a difference.

BTW I was reminded of Nehru when I heard that dude! He is just a smidgen above that man!
FM
Barely 8,000 people were at the rally. Over 7,000 of them were trucked and bussed in from G/town and other areas on the East Coast.

The PPPites packed the crowd in a small area then took out pictures to give the appears that the crowd was large.

Clearly the attendance were disappointing compared to previous PPP rallies held there.

It was around 8000 the inside word is that the PPP advertised in the ground but once they realized they were not getting the numbers they decided to hold the event outside because the ground would swallow up 8000 people and really make things look bad.

Young taps any insight here?

If you have a few beers with the police as friends, you hear a different story about the PPP.
