On that day, every man jack will be for themselves. Just like how we came into this world free of others' burdens, on that day everyone will be free of other' burdens. What we sow is what we will reap. We will not be able to loan our actions to anyone else.

Hi Cain and Ksazma, thanks for your replies.  I guess, an aspect of what I am asking is if, in your view, people are moving away from dogma and organized religion to a position of being more spiritual instead?  Many people go through the formalities of following the major faiths, but have doubts.  Besides, they see the divisive role that the followers of some faiths (not necessarily the faiths themselves) have in this world and that turns them off.  I mean the intolerance, rigidity, judgemental and 'only my path leads to salvation' mentality.  They therefore yearn for a more universal spiritual key.  A sort of spiritual TOE (theory of everything).
