President Ramotar raises elections concerns with Carter Centre, PSC

[www.inewsguyana.com] – President Donald Ramotar has raised his Party’s concerns about the hosting of General and Regional Elections by the Guyana Elections Commission with the Carter Centre and the Private Sector Commission.

 

Both the Carter Center and the PSC are fielding Observer Missions for the elections in Guyana with the Carter Center boasting a capacity of 40 persons that the PSC jointly with the Electoral Assistance Bureau having some 900 observers.

President Ramotar shortly after a meeting with Former US President Jimmy Carter told reporters that the concerns raised with the Carter Centre were the same ones that would have been ventilated in the public domain by People’s Progressive Party General Secretary Clement Rohee.

According to the President, “we exchanged views, opinions concerns about elections, and general elections concerns.”

He noted too that the Carter Centre raised concerns about “general issues” regarding the conduct of Poll on May 11.

 

Meanwhile, PSC Chairman Ramesh Persaud told the media that while the PSC is satisfied with the level of preparedness for elections by GECOM, it has been informed of some concerns that the PPP has and intends to raise those concerns with GECOM in a subsequent meeting.

Both the PSC and the Carter Center have raised concerns about the acceptance of the elections results.

You mean the apaan jhat party which has scared black people demonizing them, openly appealing to race, and refusing to distance themselves from the racist demagoguery of Shaitaan's friends......now fears how they will react if the PPP wins.

 

Well maybe if they had a campaign based on national unity, and not apaan jhat they wouldn't have that problem.
